Greetings
Hello,
As the world's population continues to age, it is becoming increasingly important to prioritize healthy living. This is not only important for individuals, but for governments as well, for various reasons. One of the key requirements for healthy living is maintaining a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, which can significantly reduce the risk of chronic non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cancer. By focusing on physical activity and proper nutrition, individuals can maintain their vigor and functional independence as they age, while minimizing infirmities and disability.
Since December 2007, three expert meetings have been held in Korea to discuss the relationship between nutrition, physical activity, and aging, obesity, and cancer. In December 2009, the first international NAPA meeting was held on Jeju Island, Korea. Over the years, a total of 11 NAPA meetings have been held, culminating in the establishment of the NAPA society in November 2022, with 12 executive directors and 1 steering committee chair, as well as 200 board members.
The NAPA society represents a timely opportunity for the world's experts on healthy aging to come together and enhance research activities, ultimately leading to the creation of a healthier world. By promoting convergence research among various scientific disciplines, the NAPA society seeks to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge, and nurture future leaders in the field of healthy aging. Furthermore, the society places a strong emphasis on respecting diversity, equity, and equality for a sustainable future.
We believe that by collaborating and sharing knowledge, we can make a significant impact in the fight against many diseases. Our society provides opportunities for networking, professional development, and community outreach, and we are committed to advancing the field of nutrition, physical activity, and cancer.
Thank you for joining our society and for your commitment to this important cause. We look forward to your contributions and participation in our community.
Chairman
